How to make smoke in blender
Here's a simple guide on how to make smoke in Blender:
Add a plane to the scene and scale it up to the desired size. This will be the emitter for the smoke.
Go into edit mode (press Tab) and subdivide the plane a few times to increase its resolution.
Add a particle system to the plane by clicking on the Particles properties in the Properties panel (press N if the Properties panel is not visible).
Change the particle system type to Emitter.
In the Render panel, select the smoke simulation type.
Set the smoke simulation settings as desired, such as smoke density and flow.
Go back to the Particles panel and add a Keyed velocity to the particles, which will give them an initial upward velocity.
Go to the Scene properties and add a new material to the plane, and give it an Emission shader.
In the shader editor, add a texture to the emission shader and connect it to the density of the smoke simulation.
Go to the Animation panel and add a new action.
In the Dope Sheet, add keyframes for the start and end frames of the animation.
Add a new scene strip to the VSE (Video Sequence Editor) and add the smoke animation to it.
In the Properties panel, go to the Scene strip and add a scene marker.
In the marker properties, set the marker type to “Action” and select the smoke action.
This should create a simple smoke simulation in Blender. You can adjust the settings and parameters in the smoke simulation and particle system to achieve the desired look and behavior of the smoke.
